In order to ensure the continued safety of participants, chaperones, and PBC staff, we intend to operate with the following protocols in place for 2022:
As of June 1, 2022, and barring any new COVID-19 variants, we are providing overnight programming for everyone, regardless of vaccination status. However, the Princeton-Blairstown Center strongly recommends that students and chaperones be vaccinated and have a negative rapid test prior to coming to the Blairstown Campus. COVID-19 is an infectious disease. The WHO states that most people infected with the virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. However, some will require medical attention, become seriously ill, require hospitalization, and could even die from the virus.
All groups are asked to pre-screen participants for illness and/or fever, especially COVID-19 symptoms before arrival at PBC.
Cabin occupancy will be limited to 10 students and 1 chaperone (2 if required by organizational policy) to ensure that everyone sleeps at least six feet apart in cabins.
Meals will be prepared and served according to CDC and ACA (American Camp Association) guidelines and best practices.
PBC will plan and execute as much of the program outside as possible, using socially distanced activities that have been used during our day programs throughout the pandemic.
During colder months of April and November, when open windows and full cabin ventilation may not be possible, overnight occupancy will be limited to approximately 60 students (a maximum of six students and one chaperone per cabin).
PBC washhouses and auxiliary bathroom spaces will be open for use, but other indoor spaces will be closed to the public, including Egner Lodge.
Hand sanitizer stations will be strategically located around campus and PBC facilitators will carry an adequate supply with them at all times for all members of their group.
Protocols and policy are subject to change based on current public health guidance. Last updated 6/21/22.
