The Center is Proud to Hold Dual Accreditation from ACA and AEE

I have the great honor of serving on the Board of the American Camp Association (ACA) New York and New Jersey. During recent strategic planning discussions, the ACA analysis included looking at the “value” of accreditation. Although it's unfortunate, some people in the field do not understand the full value of accreditation.

At the Princeton-Blairstown Center (PBC), we value accreditation so much that we have chosen to be one of a select number of outdoor youth-focused organizations that hold dual accreditation by both the ACA and the Association of Experiential Education (AEE).

Both the ACA and AEE accreditation standards provide frameworks to offer best practices and commitment to quality and safety. They are solid evidence of an organization's commitment to continued excellence and improvement.

Participating in both accreditation processes allows PBC to keep abreast of and adapt to ever-changing best practices related to risk management, staffing, DEI, mental health, programming, quality improvement, youth development, education, and so much more.

When our staff apply best practices, PBC can provide both best-in-class programming and facilities. You don’t have to take my word for it. Our group coordinators and chaperones tell us week after week via the surveys they complete. Below is feedback we received from a teacher with 30 years experience.

The grounds where the program took place were nothing short of breathtaking. The forest provided the perfect backdrop for the activities, creating a stimulating environment that enhanced the overall learning experience. The well-maintained facilities, trails, and outdoor spaces showcased a commitment to creating a safe learning environment.

I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to the welcoming and dedicated staff members who played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our stay. Their passion for education and the outdoors was evident in every interaction, and their ability to connect with our students created a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

Once again, thank you for offering such an OUTSTANDING program that goes beyond traditional educational experiences.
